Having Some Trouble With the PlayBook?

In August of 2011, designers at RIM released yet another BlackBerry device, the PlayBook. This product is RIM's answer to the personal computer tablet question. While RIM is a well-established company within the fourth-generation mobile communications industry, this company and its PlayBook is a relatively recent newcomer into the smart tablet arena. According to online research, many critics have deadpanned this new device, claiming that is in no way up to the task of competing with other tablet designers that are well acquainted with these types of machines. However, in this writer's opinion, it is premature to level any judgment against the PlayBook. For example, programmers associated with the BlackBerry PlayBook have designed a wide variety of applications, which can be run on any PlayBook's operating system. These applications cover the entire gamut of computer programming, ranging from games and social networking websites to educational and financially oriented programs such as strategy games and Smart Budget. However, as is the case with all fourth-generation devices, accidents do happen, and programs do not always work the way that they were intended to.

However, customers need not worry about bugs, lag-time, or faulty programs with the BlackBerry PlayBook. RIM has developed three specific departments within their company, which can deal with a wide variety of technical problems. First of all, PlayBook Support designed to deal with problems relating directly to the PlayBook's hardware and operating system. This specific branch of RIM's customer service, which is available in a wide variety of nations throughout the world, can also provide customers with vital software updates, which ensure that the PlayBook continues operating properly. At the same time, these employees can also explain the system requirements to the customers. System requirements are the minimum amount of RAM (Random Access Memory) that is needed for many programs to operate.

Secondly, another section of customer support, which is of great importance, is PlayBook Apps Support. While some might think that applications would be covered by PlayBook support, this is not the case. Applications that are available on the PlayBook are developed by both RIM's employees and private developers. Therefore, application-support is its very own section of customer service. These employees can provide customers with access to updates needed to run the applications, and assist in trouble-shooting as well.

The final area of PlayBook support to be discussed here is PlayBook Contact Support. This area of support has received the majority of media attention lately. PlayBook contact is a new program, which allows the user access to BlackBerry's exclusive e-mail service, and it is rumored that an update will soon be available, which will allow the use of instant messaging through a PlayBook as well. In closing, the PlayBook is one of the best tablets on the market, because of the wealth of applications available for this device, and the wide availability of technical and customer services.
