RIM’s Customer Support

BlackBerry devices have been at the forefront of fourth-generation technology since the late 1990’s. Although competitors have arisen, no company has been able to oust RIM from the modern mobile communications market, despite their best efforts. Research in Motion’s latest innovation, the PlayBook, has been a bit of a gamble for the Canadian company’s supporters who wish to break-in to the personal computer tablet market. Reviewers, commentators, internet bloggers and representatives of competing corporations seem to have a made a sport out of writing about the lack of capabilities associated with the PlayBook. I ask you, “Why would so many people do such a thing?” I have the answer. They are afraid of the disastrous effects that the PlayBook will have on their profits. They are afraid of RIM, and they should be.

While the PlayBook and other brands of tablets boast a wide variety of applications including both games and professionally oriented programs, which are available for download from online establishments. The PlayBook has one feature that will allow this product to corner the market. PlayBook apps support is an independent division of RIM’s much larger technical support department, PlayBook support. Employees in apps support are some of the best experts in the business who can assist customers with faulty applications, software updates, and troubleshooting any malfunctioning program whether it is for entertainment or professional uses. Furthermore, thanks to RIM’s negotiations with a nameless competitor, the PlayBook can use some applications and services that previously had been available only through a single carrier.

PlayBook Support can be further divided into another section of support staff. This final section of BlackBerry PlayBook Support is referred to as PlayBook contact support. PlayBook Contacts is an application, which allows subscribers to access to BlackBerry’s exclusive state-of-the-art e-mail service. This capability has generated a great deal of bad press for RIM until recently, because it was not available in August, when the product was released. However, soft ware updates have remedied these problems. At the same time, PlayBook contact Support can provide updates and assistance dealing with e-mail and instant messaging.

In conclusion, the BlackBerry PlayBook will definitely provide a moment of pause for its competitors, because of the wide variety of applications available for download. However, the development of customer services and technical support ensures that PlayBook users and anyone else who employs BlackBerry devices will never be without an experienced helping hand. All of these features may allow RIM to remain a staple in the fourth-generation mobile communications industry for many years to come.
